To this very day delivery trucks dangerously block access to businesses and residence for 1.1 miles on Berry St. in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Access-a-Ride picking up passenger at the corner of an "open street" becuase it can't access the street to pick up the passenger at or closer to their home on 34th Ave. in Jackson Hieghts, Queens were many seniors and people with disabilities live.

This resident of an "open street" has come too close to running out of oxygen as a result of being denied access to his home located on an "open street"


"Open Streets" prohibit cars from going over 5mph but allow "scooters," mopeds and e-bikes to travel in both directions up to 50mph with no enforcement. "Open Streets" and "bike boulevards" are e-vehicle highways where speed is prioritized over pedestrians.

34th Ave Open Streets Coalition aka Transportation Alternatives
uses DOT barrells to block access to street

North Brooklyn Open Streets Community Coaltion/North Brooklyn Parks Alliance spray paints arbitrary markings on a public street and advertises their website which takes you to a Transportation Alternatives petition. The Brooklyn Borough Commissioner called it a "traffic calming measure"

Often 3 barricades are used to prevent access on public streets where residents live and businesses are located.

CM Lincoln Restler, CM Jennifer Guiterriez, NYS Emily Gallagher, Senate Julia Salazar and Kristen Gonzalez support the blocking of homes and businesses on Berry St. and have enabled hardships on seniors and the disabled by refusing to mitigate.

An ambulance on 34th Ave Open Street 1.3 miles long can not access an emergency.

"Open Streets" are designed to slow "traffic." Here an EMT is prohibited from access on an "open street" and must move a barricade for access.
